HF Sinclair is seeking a Crude Oil Accountant in Dallas who will conduct complex accounting assignments within Crude Oil Accounting, requiring in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and processes related to inventory, payables, and receivables. Responsible for one or two refinery supply chains as assigned, representing purchases ranging from 1-6 million barrels per month, with associated logistics expenses of $3-$15 million and inventories of 500,000 to 3 million barrels. Able to explain complex or sensitive information to team members, third parties, operations, and management. Works independently within policies and procedures with minimal supervision and guidance, acting as a resource and lead for less experienced personnel.
May perform additional duties such as creating reports for royalty tax, inventory, pipeline commitments, verifying crude volumes and prices, lease crude duties, preparing wire transfers, and managing master file changes.
Special assignments are at the supervisors discretion.
Minimum 35 years of relevant work experience required.
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
Ability to perform moderate accounting analysis, understand accounting practices, exercise sound judgment, communicate effectively, and have advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software. Ability to analyze crude movements and establish effective relationships internally and externally. Demonstrates quick learning and problem-solving skills.
Experience with SAP FI/CO, BI Reporting, and project leadership abilities.
